Our gardens are spread around the property of Heathmont Baptist Church and we grow many edible plants including herbs, vegies and fruit trees. Members of the community are free to help themselves to crops when they are ripe and encouraged to help out in the garden anytime they are able but especially on our gardening together days. Some tools are provided to assist.
On the second and fourth Saturday of each month at 9.30am we tend to our gardens together, learn new skills and share our stories around the morning tea table.
We meet as a team a few nights throughout the year to plan garden developments together and share a meal at a member’s house.
It’s a joy to share our harvest and connect with others, growing community as well as food.
We’d love to connect with you, share morning tea, recipe ideas or garden tips!
There is always a place at the table for you, just as Jesus welcomes all of us to his table.

Community members, Local cafes, Church and Playgroup members as well as ShareWaste members can participate in our composting program enabling us to reduce food waste (and the production of methane in land fill), learn about the composting process and provide benefits to the community garden. Contributions to our compost and the feeding of our vegetable and herb gardens, helps us enrich the many garden beds which provide our harvest.
